Yamba is located in the northern rivers region of New South Wales and lies at the estuary of the Clarence River. It is one of the most picturesque villages on the entire coast and a popular holiday destination for thousands of Australian families. The entrance from the sea is protected by large seawalls making the river navigable for cruising yachts and the local fishing trawler fleet. It is a sensational boating and fishing destination and there are plenty of excellent boating amenities including a modern marina and good boat ramps.

In Yamba itself you will find everything that is necessary for a great holiday. There are plenty of great holiday accommodation in Yamba in resorts and holiday apartments, as well as several caravan parks and camping areas. The town centre has excellent shopping that includes a range of restaurants and cafes. The large supermarket chains are also here to provide your every day needs. The New South Wales coast is famous for its fantastic surfing beaches and Yamba has not missed out. The break at Angowrie is one of the icons on the surfing scene and it is located close to the centre of town. There is a local hotel overlooking the surf beach at Angowrie and it is really popular for meals with the locals.

Close to Yamba are two fantastic National Parks that provide the opportunity for bushwalking and picnics. They are the Yurygir National Park and the Bundjalung National Park. The Yamba lighthouse is also a local tourist attraction. A sizeable trawler fleet operates from Yamba and consequently, fresh seafood is readily available. Wether you prepare it yourself or try our one of the local seafood restaurants, you will be in for a special treat.

In the hinterland you will find many farming villages and the city of Grafton is not far away. To the north is Ballina and Byron Bay and to the south is Coffs Harbour. Yamba is best accessed by road. Either drive yourself or arrive on one of the regular coach services that travel along the coast. The nearest airport is at either Grafton or Coffs Harbour and you can hire a rental car from either and then make the trip to Yamba.
